IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John E.
Quinn Iv
October 13, 1938 – February 23, 2021
John Quinn IV, 82, passed on February 23, 2021 in Vero Beach, Florida. He reunited with his beloved wife, Veronica, on the ten-year anniversary of her earthly departure.
John was born on October 13, 1938 in Brooklyn, NY and was a resident of Vero Beach for 15 years, previously residing in Marlboro, NY. He was the devoted father to Laura LaMela, John Quinn, Michael Quinn, Joseph Quinn, and Denise Quinn, as well as a cherished grandfather of 12. John was a veteran of the US Navy, serving 1955-1959.
John was as passionate as he was caring. He had a knack of turning every one of those passions into impressive skills to share with others. A gifted and meticulous builder by trade, he also used his talents to help build up his communities, volunteering for Habitat for Humanity in Vero Beach, upgrading home accessibility for people with disabilities, and helping refurbish St. Mary's Church in Marlboro, NY. John was a devout Catholic and committed countless hours of service with the Knights of Columbus. A talented chef, he was always researching and testing new recipes, preparing delicious meals for his family, and even ran Johnny's Pizza Shop on Western Avenue, Marlboro, NY. He was a history buff with endless curiosity, always reading and learning about places that would often inspire his next travels. John loved the sunshine, becoming an avid biker and hiker, which were some of his favorite activities to enjoy with friends and family.
He will be affectionately remembered for his smiling blue eyes and booming laughter, as well as his lighthearted pranks and joyful off-key whistling. Most importantly, John spent his abundant life demonstrating the value of family. He led by example with unconditional love, self-sacrifice, and support – and for that, he will be greatly missed.
Services will be held privately at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations will be made in his name to the charity of one's one choosing.
"I love you a bushel and a peck. A bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck."
