Obituary

John O. (Jack) Wilson, 90 passed away on January 2, 2019 at Sebastian River Medical Center with his family by his side.

He was born December 15, 1928 in Flemington, NJ to George and Reba Wilson. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, George W. Wilson killed in WWII while serving in the United States Navy and his sister, Shirley Rinz.

He graduated from Flemington High School in 1947 where he was very active in sports, especially football.  He met his beloved wife, Mary, while in high school.  They were married June 4, 1949.

He worked as a carpenter and built their family home in Flemington.  He was an avid golfer and a member and treasurer of the Sunday Morning Golf Club for 20+ years. He was a member of the Flemington Fire Company and a charter member of the Flemington Elks Lodge #1928.  He served as Exalted Ruler, State Vice President and District Deputy to the Grand Exalted Ruler.

He was a sub-dealer for Johanna Farms Inc. and owner-operator of Sunset Dairy in Flemington.  He retired in 1994 and he and his wife Mary moved to Sebastian, FL in 1995.  Once in Florida, Jack worked for St. Edwards School in Vero Beach driving school buses for 10+ years.

He was a member of the Flemington United Methodist Church, and later joined the Sebastian United Methodist Church in 1999.

Jack is survived by his wife, Mary and three daughters: Kathi Wilson-Pschar (Greg) of Sebastian, FL; Jacki Haack (William) of Pembroke Pines, FL; and Heidi Runnels (Michael) of Glen Gardner, NJ.  He is also survived by three grandsons, John (Dawn) Gurski, Jim (Jamie) Gurski and Jeff (Brittney) Gurski and six great-grandchildren, Cody, Tyler, James, Bailey, Aubrey and Jaxson.

A viewing will be held at Seawinds Funeral Home, Sebastian, FL on Monday, January 7, 2019 from 4pm – 6pm with a Memorial Service held at the Sebastian United Methodist Church at 11am on Tuesday, January 8, 2019.  His final resting place will be in NJ.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sebastian United Methodist Church, 1029 Main Street, Sebastian, FL 32958
