Obituary

Joseph Angel Lomas, 19, of Barefoot Bay, Florida, passed away tragically on January 11, 2026, as the result of a motorcycle accident. Joseph's life, though far too short, left a lasting mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Joseph was born on May 13, 2006, in Utica, New York, to Diana M. Lomas and Jesus D. Lomas. He later moved to Florida where he grew into an unforgettable young man with a kind heart and a bold spirit. Joseph earned his high school diploma from Sebastian River High School and carried big dreams for his future. A proud future Marine, Joseph was set to leave in March, ready to begin the next chapter of his life with determination and honor.

Joseph was the type of person who made people feel loved without even trying. He was thoughtful, funny, generous, caring, helpful, and respectful—the kind of son, brother, and friend who brought light into every space he walked into. He loved football and basketball, and he had a passion for motorcycles, his Mustang, and anything involving cars. He also enjoyed snowboarding, fishing, golfing, video games, and spending time with the people he loved most. Music was always part of his world, especially Juice WRLD, who he loved listening to. And in true Joseph fashion—one of the funniest and most memorable things about him was how he could eat a whole lemon, peel and all.

Joseph is survived by his loving family: his mother, Diana M. Lomas; his father, Jesus D. Lomas and his wife Erin Lomas; his sisters, Serena M. Soto and Jessica M. Lomas; his brothers, Jesus Lomas III and Mark A. Lomas wife Leonely Lomas, sister-in-law; his niece, Jaylianna N. Medina; his nephew, Matías F. Loma; his grandmother, Diana F. Capirci; and James Rodriguez, his loving mentor. Joseph is also lovingly remembered by future fiancé, Aubrey Ford and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 17, 2026 at St. Luke Catholic Church, 5055 Micco Rd, Barefoot Bay, FL 32976. A ceremony to honor Joseph's life will follow.

Though Joseph's time here was brief, his love, laughter, and spirit will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved him.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the precious gift of Joseph's life. Even in our heartbreak, we trust that Joseph is being held in Your arms—safe, at peace, and surrounded by Your eternal love. Lord, please comfort every person grieving this loss. Wrap Joseph's mother, father, sisters, brothers, family, and loved ones in Your strength and peace. When the days feel heavy and the silence feels too loud, remind them You are near. Your Word says, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18). Let that promise be a light for this family in the dark moments ahead. May Joseph rest in perfect peace, and may his loved ones feel Your presence through every memory, every tear, and every reminder of the love Joseph brought into this world. In Jesus' name, Amen.
