Joseph R Simmons, known to many as "The Great One" passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 8th, 2015 in Vero Beach, FL at the age of 79.

Joseph was born in Troy, NY to Raffaele and Giovannina Simmons, and was a resident of Sebastian for 29 years moving from Wynantskill, NY.

He was a Veteran, serving in the US Army. Prior to retirement Joseph worked as a material handler for Ford Motor Company in Green Island, NY and for 10 years was employed as a security access officer at Orchid Island. He loved being retired and was an avid swimmer. He could always be counted on for a funny joke.

Joseph is survived by his son, Joseph Simmons of Albany NY daughter; Brenda (Richard) Davis of Sebastian, FL; two grandchildren Bridgette and Rebecca Davis; and one great-grandchild.
