Joseph R. Taylor, 83 years old, of Barefoot Bay, FL (formerly of DuBois, PA), went Home to be with his Savior on February 5, 2026 with his family by his side.

Joe was born in DuBois, PA, on January 9, 1943, the son of the late Clifford and Anna Belle (Hodge) Taylor.

He graduated from DuBois Area High School class of 1961. He enlisted in the Army Reserves and served for 8 years. He was the manager of the DuBois Plaid Stamp Store for 10 years, Montgomery Ward for a short time, then spent 32 years at Rockwell Mfg/Sensus, Inc.  During his working years at Rockwell, he also worked for 13 years at the Sears Catalog Store and started the Taylor Cleaning Service to help put his children through First Baptist Christian Academy/DuBois Christian Schools.

On October 19, 1963 he married Joanne (Zemak) Taylor.  They had 5 children: Patricia (Joseph) Baummer of Penfield, PA; Richard Scott (Daniela) Taylor of Troy, TX; infant Susan who died at birth; Stephen (Amy) Taylor of Hastings, PA; David Taylor of Georgetown, OH.  Joanne passed away June 29, 1987.  He then married Constance Jean (Wilson) Taylor on October 8, 1988.  They had 37 wonderful years together, the last 13 being spent in sunny Florida.

Joe was first a man of faith who led his family well in the ways of the Lord. He served and volunteered in various positions through the years at Temple Baptist Church and First Baptist Church in DuBois, PA and most recently in his church Sebastian River Baptist Church, Sebastian, FL. Joe had a wonderful voice and enjoyed singing in the choir and along with his gospel songs at home.  He was a dedicated family man who worked hard to provide for them.  We were beyond blessed to call him 'Dad'.

Joe is survived by his wife, Connie; his 4 children and spouses; 5 grandchildren: Bretta Beers, Christopher (Malorie) Taylor, Andrew (Karin) Taylor, Justin (Caylie) Taylor, Emily (Dustin Ferguson) Taylor; 3 great-grandchildren: Zeplyn Beers, Silas Beers, and Elijah Taylor due to make his arrival February 16.  Joe is also survived by a special niece, Cherie (Taylor) Shannon of DuBois, PA and a brother, Clifford/Kip (Ruth) Taylor, Jr also of DuBois, PA.

He was predeceased by his parents, his first wife, infant daughter, sister Nancy (Gary) Ross of Falls Creek then Chambersburg, PA, and daughter-in-law April (Dunlap) Taylor, Sykesville, PA.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Sebastian River Baptist Church; A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am. A celebration of life will be held in DuBois, PA when the weather gets warmer!!  Interment will be at Morningside Cemetery in DuBois, PA.
