IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joseph S
Walker
December 25, 1929 – March 13, 2019
Joseph S. Walker went to the Lord on March 13, 2019 after a long illness. He was born Christmas Day 1929 in East Boston. He was wrapped in a blanket and placed under the Christmas tree as a gift to his sisters.
Joe played football at East Boston High and was an avid football coach for kids and an enthusiastic fan. He served in the Korean War and was proud of his military service. He was a member and commander of the Barefoot Bay VFW and American Legion. Much of his time was devoted to aiding veterans. After Korea he went to Linotype School on the G.I. Bill. After working as a linotype operator for many years he eventually ran and owned Branford Printing Company.
He married Margaret (Peggy) McKeon, moved to Guilford, CT and had a daughter, Patricia and son, John. Joe was the proud granddad to Christopher. In 1977 he lost his wife to a long illness. He was always a family man who enjoyed time spent with all those Massachusetts relatives. He retired and moved to Barefoot Bay, FL with his companion, Grace Guarino, where they enjoyed twenty active, loving years.
The family wanted to thank the VFW Homebound and Vitas for all the compassionate care they gave Joe.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Joseph's life by gathering at Seawinds Funeral Home, 735 S. Fleming St, Sebastian, FL 32958 on Thursday, March 21st, 2019 at 11:00 am.
Seawinds Funeral Home is honored to serve the Walker family.
