SEBASTIAN, FL -- Lavonne Marie Orem (Bonnie) resident of Sebastian, Florida for 22 years, passed away at home on February 1, 2015 after a long illness. She was born on June 24, 1928 in Pennsylvania. Her family moved to Maryland where she met her beloved husband of almost 70 years (February 16), James (Jim) Ivan Orem who was devotedly by her side caring for her throughout her illness.
Jim and Bonnie moved to Colorado in 1960 with their six children. Bonnie's love of gardening led her to open a flower shop in Littleton, CO. Jim and Bonnie retired to Florida because of Bonnie's love of swimming and the ocean. She personified what it meant to be a caring person. She will be lovingly remembered for her infectious laugh and her love of cooking, which she shared with her children and grandchildren.
Larry (Ruth) Orem, a beloved son preceded Bonnie in death. She is survived by her husband, son Terry, (Mary) Orem, Lakewood, CO, and 4 daughters, Lynn Johnson, Alamosa, CO, Wendy (Stephen) Wilson, Destin, FL, Tanya Quinn, Santa Rosa Beach, FL, Dianne Maxwell, Stuart, FL, 15 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
