Obituary

Liney was born in Groton, CT and joined the United States Navy at the age of 17. He met "the love of his life" while serving his country. When he was discharged, they married on July 18, 1959. They lived in Westerly, RI and then moved to Hollywood Florida in 1965 with three little girls in tow, with their fourth born two years later. Liney lived with five women and managed to stay sane. He worked many jobs to take care of his family. He was with the City of Hollywood for 26 years, retiring at 59 years of age.

During his retirement he enjoyed almost 30 years of family, friends and fun. He loved his church, First Baptist Church of Wabasso, where he was a Deacon. He loved living in Sebastian and everyone on their street thought so much of him. But his favorite accomplishment was being a loving, loyal husband, father to four daughters, grandfather to eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

He is survived by "The Love of His Life" of almost 63 years Nila Smith-Winkler, daughters Debra Ivey, Donna Pandos, Diane Carr and Dana Gillis. Their spouses David, Bill, Brian and Kevin. All their children and all their grandchildren. There will be a memorial service on Monday June 13, 2022 at 2:00 pm. The service will be held at Seawinds Funeral Home in Sebastian, Florida.
