Mom (Lois) was born in Casey, Illinois in 1926 to Alice and Ernie Brandenburg. After a small town childhood spent with eight brothers and sisters and a niece who lived with them, Mom moved to the "big" city of Champaign with her two best girlfriends. One, Vera Eddington, still resides in the Casey area.
My Dad (Bill) lived next door to the "girls" and soon fell for Mom. It wasn't long before they were married and on their way to having six kids of their own.
They moved to Florida in the early 50's and resided in Fort Lauderdale for over 20 years. A boat club adventure lured them to Sebastian in 1973. The two-story red brick house on US highway 1 and Main Street was their residence for almost thirty years. Mom and Dad were married for 53 years, until his passing in 1998.
We six children, Judy Heffer (Duke), Karen Bobish (Don), Dale Smidley, Bill Legue II (Dawn), Ronnie Legue, and Teri Yackso (Andy), and our spouses loved our Mom and the closeness we all shared. The entire family, including grand and greatgrand kids all live in the Sebastian area. Tara (Pat), Brittany and Conor Gilligan, Tony (Lory) Tonioli (Lindsay, Christopher, Logan and Kali). Kelsey and Patrick Yackso, Erick (Tiffany) Smidley (Elliette). Kevin Lamy and Billy Legue. Glen (Heather) Rohm (Kelsey, Linsey, Sidney). Shiloh (Greg) Whitaker. Stacy Brooks (Christopher, Kyle).
Mom is also survived by her sister Norma Denny (Michigan), brothers Kenneth (Texas), Bill (Edie) Atwood, Ill, and Bud (Indiana) Brandenburg, many nieces and nephews including Elaine (Morris) Beasley, (California) who was raised as a sister.
Predeceased are her sisters Hazel, Iva, Fran and brother Carson.
Thank you, Mom for raising such a loving family.
You will be missed everyday.
