Cross
July 10, 1934 – October 21, 2022
(Elizabeth) Louise Cross , 88, of Palm Bay passed away peacefully on October 21, 2022. She is now with her beloved husband of 65 years, Myron , and all of their many dogs and various pets. She was of the Lutheran faith .
Louise was born in Leetsdale, PA in 1934. She was of German and Czechoslovakian descent. After graduating high school she married Myron in 1954. They lived in Pittsburgh until 1960, when they moved to Rapid City, South Dakota. In 1963, they moved to Wichita , Kansas. Louise was a stay-at-home Mom and housewife for that time. Later in 1963, they moved to the east coast of Florida, where they remained.
After the children got to school age, Louise went to work in various jobs as a bookkeeper. She was also the President of the PTA and a Girl Scout Leader.
When the kids were in their teenage years, their home was considered the house to hang out at. Louise was "everybody's" Mom. She loved having a houseful of kids.
They started raising dogs which included Great Danes, h ybrid wolves and their beloved English Mastiffs. Louise dedicated a lot of her time for 30 years to raising, showing and Championing their English Mastiffs. She was considered a Matriarch of the MCOA (Mastiff Club of America). She mentored many people in the proper breeding, raising , handling, and showing of English Mastiffs.
Her hobbies of late included coloring, going to movies and watching TV.
Louise is survived by her sweet cat, Prince, a loyal companion; her oldest daughter, Debbie, and her husband Todd of Fellsmere; her son, Skip (Jonna) of Palm Bay; her grandson, Camyron Cross of Palm Bay; her God Daughter, Trude Hull of Melbourne; her daughter, Rae, and her family (Phil, Brianna, Randy) of Sebastian; grandson, David Cross (Amy) of Buford, Georgia; her great granddaughter, Annabelle Louise Cross, of Buford, Georgia. She is also survived by her caregiver, Andrea Shackles (and Andrea's grandchildren Alan and Evie) of Palm Bay; and her very dear friends, Christy Hunter, Rose McCann, and Melissa Grant.
She will be remembered for her compassion, her sense of humor and her generous personality. She put everyone above herself when it came to needs and she will be sadly missed by all.
A visitation will be held from noon until 1:00pm, November 12, at Seawinds Funeral Home on Fleming Street in Sebastian. A service will follow immediately at 1:00 at the same location. A celebration of life will follow immediately at the American Legion, at 807 Louisiana Avenue, Sebastian.
