On Friday, December 6, 2019, Michael Howard Herman, loving husband and father of three, passed away at the age of 65.  He was born on December 10, 1953 in Detroit, MI to William and Agatha (Ossowski) Herman. He worked for Valenite over 19 years operating several plants before venturing into business with his long-time friend, John Schneider, opening Sign-A-Rama in Denton, TX in 1998.  He happily retired in March 2019 before moving to Sebastian, Florida where he was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church.  Mike married the love of his life, Sharon Francine McKinney, and they shared over 40 wonderful years together having raised three children Kerilyn, Pamela and Thomas.

Mike was an outdoorsman at heart. He loved to fish. Growing up he spent much time doing just that with his family—especially his dad, Bill, and brother/best friend, Joe. Many traditions were made around days spent fishing. In fact, all who knew him have heard stories of his annual Canadian fishing trips over the years.  Spending time with family is something that Mike truly loved and valued. A gathering, whether for dinner or special occasion, wasn't complete without a couple of rounds of cards or dice—something his grandkids will always remember and carry-on. He was known for his sense of humor, his lucky gambling trips, and most importantly his deep connections with family and friends.  Having never met a stranger, Mike was liked and loved by all who knew him.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, William. He is survived by his mother, Agatha; his wife, Sharon; his children Kerilyn Redish (James), Pamela Scott (Damien) and Thomas (Jennifer); his siblings, Lynne Land (Fred), Joseph (Karen), Marianne Rolke (Leif), Carol Jones (Gary), and Ina Ottens; his grandchildren Erica, Alexis, Justin, Leighton, William, Jensen, Reese, Kristina, Samuel, Julia, Ava and Kortney; his mother-in-law, Beatrice McKinney; his Aunt Denise Emerine, Aunt Cathy Herman and Aunt Deanna Vargo; and his many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Michael was called to go on the fishing trip of his life with his dad and our Savior.  While our hearts will miss his physical presence and laugh, we know that he will be with us always and we will see him again.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those interested make a memorial donation to the American Diabetes Association in his name, and to remember the importance of giving blood often as Mike was the recipient of those life-saving donations many, many times over the past several years.
