Michael John Sloat, 73, Sebastian, Florida, passed away, Saturday May 13, 2023. Born May 23, 1949 in Wanaque, NJ. He was the son of the late Byron Sloat and the late Alice Sloat.

He was a graduate of Lakeland HS. He entered the US Army upon graduation where he served in Germany as a sharp shooter. He was a lineman for NJ Bell upon returning stateside. He enjoyed softball, bowling, and golf. He retired as soon as he possibly could to Sebastian, FL. He spent his remaining years there with his significant other, Annette Trefny. For the past 12 years, they spent summers in the Lake Erie Islands. In Florida, they traveled close to home and enjoyed time by the water at the Sebastian Inlet, as well as time at the Italian American Club.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Glenn and Mark. Surviving are his siblings Penny Kittren, Janice Sloat, Robin Ferreri and her husband Tom, and brother Byron (Barney). His daughter Sandra Darling. Son Raymond and wife Carolyn. Grandchildren Rebecca and Steven Darling, and Harper Rae Sloat. As well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Private memorial service will be held at a later date.
