Michael Gerald Smart of Sebastian, Florida went to meet his maker on Jan 7, 2026 at Sebastian River Medical Center Emergency Room. Michael was 79 yrs old on December 28, 2025. He was born to the late Clarence Smart and Mary Brown in Virginia, the youngest of two brothers and three sisters.

Michael received his GED and Electricians license. Michael was honored to work for John's Island Club beginning in 1990 and retired in 2024. He was thankful for his job. Michael was also an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous of over 35 years, always supporting and giving back to others what was giving to him through this program.

Michael is survived by his wife Sharon Lee Smart of 20 years. Michael was survived by mother-in-law, Margaret Wollschlager and sister-in-law Debra Anne Nevill of Sebastian. Stepson, Tony Lee DiRocco and his companion, Rachael Gosnell; and two incredible grandchildren; Christian Lee DiRocco; and Jillian Nicole DiRocco. He has surviving cousins; nieces; and nephews.

Michael requested a Mass in his honor. Mass held at St. Sebastian Catholic Church on Thursday, January 29 at 11am, followed by reception.
