It is with deep, and heavy sadness we announce the death of Nils S. Wedin who passed on October 28th, in his home in Vero Beach, Florida. Nils was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1931, where he spent most of his time gleaning every bit of wisdom possible from every person he met, giving him what he always referred to as a Street Education, the best kind. Nils is a veteran of war having served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He met his wife, "Jeannie Gal", fifty years ago and together they united and raised a family, fondly referred to as the Jamaica Street Gang. He spent much of his life traveling the world, pursuing a vocation for which he was uniquely suited, often bringing his family with him to live in and experience diverse cultures. Nils was a master chess player who used the game to keep his mind sharp and to teach the most valuable life lessons to his sons, daughters, grandsons and granddaughters. He was an avid aviation enthusiast. He was a sharp man, always with a new project, idea or quest for knowledge forming in his mind. He built a successful career, most notably as co-founder and president (retired) of CCE, Inc. He is survived by his best friend and wife, Jean; his sons and daughters, Joseph, Pamela, Keith, Meg, Kenny and TJ; his sons- and daughters-in law Nancy, Chuck, Cindy and Kathleen; his grandchildren Chris, Melissa, Jessica, Sarah, Ashleigh, Sebastian, Hannah, Jake, Madison, Emma, Jessica and Berkleigh; his great-grandchildren Elian, Austin, Jayce, Brady, Emma, Angela Jean and Mackenzie; and his sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Joe Fritz. A service will be held to honor the man and celebrate his unique life at Seawinds Funeral Home in Sebastian, Florida, on Friday, November 3, 2017 at two o'clock in the afternoon. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to your favorite charity, or to VNA Hospice House whose kind, genuine souls comforted and guided Nils and his family with unwavering kindness, wisdom and charity.
