Obituary

In loving memory of Pamela J. (Hardy) Holmes, a cherished soul who brought warmth and joy to all she touched. Born on November 10, 1941, in Gladstone, Michigan, Pamela's life was a tapestry of love, resilience, and cherished moments. Raised by her mother Ruth (Ward) DuRoy and stepfather Charles DuRoy, Pamela's journey unfolded with grace. A proud graduate of Gladstone High School in 1960, she embarked on a lifelong commitment to love and family. On June 10, 1960, she exchanged vows with her first late husband, Nils Jay Larson, marking the beginning of a beautiful chapter.

Pamela's life was a testament to love's enduring strength, marked by the profound loss of her parents Charles and Ruth DuRoy, first late husband Nils Jay Larson, second late husband Stanley Holmes, and sister Qualeen Carpenter. Yet, her legacy lives on through her four adoring children: Jay (Susan) Larson, Terry (Stephany) Larson, Kimberly (Bruce) Olson, and Crystal Larson.

A matriarch whose love knew no bounds, Pamela leaves behind a legacy of 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Her spirit, a beacon of love, will forever illuminate our hearts.

Pamela's zest for life extended beyond familial bonds; she found immense joy in her travel club adventures and the pages of countless books. A member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Pamela also enriched her spiritual journey as an active participant in the Methodist Church.

A memorial service, honoring Pamela's extraordinary life, will take place at Seawinds Funeral Home in Sebastian, FL, on Monday morning. Her final resting place will be at the Gardens of Rest in Escanaba, MI, with details to be announced at a later date, tenderly handled by Anderson Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Delta County Humane Society, a cause dear to Pamela's compassionate heart.

As we bid farewell to a remarkable woman, let us find solace in the words of Psalms 23:4 – "Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me." Pamela's memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration to us all.
