Obituary

Patricia Ann Horan Yonce, 85, of Sebastian, FL, died March 23, 2025, at her home after a long struggle with dementia surrounded by her family. A visitation will be held at Seawinds Funeral Home in Sebastian, FL on Friday, March 28th from 11:00 to 12:30 with a Mass of Christian Burial immediately following at St. Sebastian Catholic Church. She will be laid to rest in the Florida National Cemetery at Bushnell, FL.

She was born Patricia Ann to William A. and Helen (Elliott) Parrott on July 24, 1939 in Oskaloosa, IA. She spent her early years in Denison, TX and later Bristow, OK where she attended grade school and high school. She later attended the Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, OK. Then for a short time she taught grade school at St. Boniface Catholic School in Louisville, KY.

She married James ("Jim") H. Horan on October 26, 1963 in Louisville, KY. Then they moved to Olney, IL where they raised their three children.
Patricia was a stay-at-home mom for most of her life. She brought a great atmosphere to every holiday season by decorating the home for each occasion.

Patricia loved anything to do with being in or near the water. Since her teen years she was into swimming, diving and later teaching swimming lessons. When she moved to Florida, she took up boogie boarding, going almost every day to the Atlantic Ocean.

Patricia was also musically inclined, playing the trombone in the Bristow High School Marching Band and playing the piano for enjoyment and entertaining the family. Later in life she learned acoustic and electric guitar. She and her daughter performed church songs at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Olney, IL on Sundays. Patricia also loved listening to country, blues and rock music, especially heavy metal. She and Jim enjoyed going to live concerts, operas and symphonies. Her favorite concert was seeing the Rolling Stones in 1994.

Patricia also liked to be handy around the house. When she wasn't busy helping Jim build their dream home on Borah Lake, she was learning cabinetmaking, electrical work and small engine repair. She built a dining room table for her family in the early 70s which is still used by her daughter. Her other interests were reading, roller skating and spending time with her family, friends and neighbors.

Patricia and Jim were devout Catholics. After he passed away in 2005, she moved to Florida and was a member of the St. Lucie Catholic Church for many years. She met Lonnie Yonce in 2016 and married soon thereafter. They enjoyed boating, dining out, watching movies and listening to live music.

Patricia is survived by her second husband, Lonnie Yonce, son Don Horan (wife Cindy) of West Melbourne, FL, daughter Cecilia Collier (husband Chris) of Port St. Lucie, FL, son Brian Horan of Houston, TX, grandson Ryan Horan (wife Courtney) of Virden, IL, granddaughter Tamara Fundrella of Seattle, WA, grandson Baron Collier of Port St. Lucie, FL, grandson Patton Collier (wife Macey) of Stuart, FL, granddaughter Cecily Collier of Port St. Lucie, FL, brother Bill Parrott (wife Cindy) of Tulsa, OK, sister-in-law Donna Parrott of Bristow, OK, and several great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jim Horan, her parents, William and Helen Parrott, brother Robert Parrott, brother-in-law William C. Horan, Jr. and sister-in-law Joyce Horan.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Patricia's dear friend and caregiver, Mary King, the kind folks from VHN Hospice Care, and all others who provided care during the last few years.
