Obituary

Paul Michael Chormanski died peacefully on Dec. 20, 2023 in Palm Bay, Florida, surrounded by family and loved ones.

Paul was born in Bridgeport, CT on March 24, 1945. He was the eldest son of four children born to Paul and Victoria Chormanski.

He graduated from Fairfield Preparatory High School. Upon graduation, he worked with his father at Bridgeport Insulated Wire Company in Bridgeport, CT. In 1972, he joined the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT) District Council 11 Local 1719 as a painter and advanced to an expert wallpaper hanger. He also taught others at Bullard Haven Technical School in his spare time. Due to his outgoing personality and easy to get along with manner, he ultimately became a Business Agent for IUPAT, where he remained until his retirement in 2000.

Paul was happily married to Sharon (Kubik) for nearly 60 years. Together, they retired to Florida 18 years ago fulfilling their longtime dream. They enjoyed their home, dogs, the local beaches and beautiful scenery of Florida. He truly loved his family. He especially loved when they came to visit so he could show them his favorite local spots and share all his discoveries.

Above all, Paul was a "people person" and an avid antiquer that would never pass up a flea market or tag sale. Of his finds, he would research all the details and would eloquently spin a tale of their origin. He was "alleged" to have found many of Napolean's swords and Billy the Kid's  revolvers. His love of antiques ultimately led him to become a dealer and expert of antique guns, knives, swords and bottles which he sold at  local shows across the States of Connecticut and Florida.

Paul is survived by his wife Sharon and brother Michael Chormanski, his three children - Lisa Chormanski (Chris Leone), Michelle Wieler (Rob Perless) and Craig Chormanski (Dee Bachman), his five grandchildren – Heather Briganti (Husband Michael), Melanie & Christian Wieler, Hailey & Shawn Chormanski and two great grandchildren – Brianna & Tyler Briganti and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his  parents Paul and Victoria Chormanski, his brother David Chormanski, and his sister Laurie Ann Bimmler.

The family is grateful for the loving care he received at the Palm Bay Hospital and William Childs Hospice House in Palm Bay, Florida.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be announced.
