Phillip Wayne Hartsfield Jr., 53, of Sebastian, died Monday July 17th at his home.

Phil was born to the late Phillip Wayne Hartsfield Sr, and surviving Jeanne Hartsfield in Vero Beach Florida, July 16th, 1970. He attended/graduated Vero Beach High School in 1988. Phil started his career with Indian River County Parks Department in 1993, making his way to Crew Leader of Underground Utilities where he worked until his passing, totaling 30 years. He took pride and went to great lengths to serve the members of our community during his career. Phil continued his education in his field over the years, collecting a multitude of certifications. Phil was also a member of the Teamsters Union #769.

Phil at a young age had a passion for cars and motorcycles. He spent much of his free time modifying his vehicles with his sons, passing on the passion. He loved drag racing his cars and cruising his Harley's, he was happiest in the wind. Phil had a hard exterior to outsiders but to his loved ones he was loyal, selfless, and his sarcastic sense of humor made for some immensely funny moments.

Phil is survived by his sister Frances Hartsfield of Sebastian (Lyndsey & Tyler), his partner Mary Hartsfield, his oldest son Cameron Hartsfield of Fort Pierce (Jackie), his youngest son Truman Hartsfield (Karlie) of Oregon and his Granddaughter Harper Hartsfield.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
