Ralph McCray of Barefoot Bay passed away on November 12, 2013 at his residence. He was born to Ralph E. and Minetta (Grossholtz) McCray in Erie, PA on April 9, 1921.
He married Margaret (Marge) Markovich on February 27, 1943. She passed away in 2004.
He is survived by his brother Gerald of Danville, WV; sons, Gary (wife Marsha) of Springfield, IL and Scot of Columbus, OH; grandchildren, Chad McCray of Gays, IL, Sheldon Padgett of Akron, OH, Jessica Agius of Novi, MI; and eight great grandchildren.
Ralph is preceded in death by his wife, daughter Karen Burtt; brother, Wallace (Pete), and sister Charlotte (Hon) Weislogel.
After serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps, he worked at Bucyrus Erie as an inspector while continuing his pilot training. He became a part-time flight instructor and went on to receive several advanced flight certifications. He was a corporate pilot for several companies from 1955 to 1985.
Ralph and Marge retired to Florida from Ohio in 1985 and moved to Barefoot Bay in 1989. He enjoyed shooting pool and playing Euchre with his Barefoot Bay friends.
Private family services will be at Seawinds Funeral Home, Sebastian, FL. Burial will be at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. Memorials to American Heart Association.
