Raymond F. Long, 88, of Roseland, passed away on November 23, 2011 at Sebastian River Medical Center.

Ray was born in Elizabeth, PA. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, flying many missions as a gunner aboard a B-17. He was wounded during his service and honorably discharged due to his injuries.

Following his military career, Ray worked in Miami as an Electrical Contractor, where he met his wife, Dorothy. They married in 1964 in Miami, and moved to Roseland in 1986. They split their time between Florida and Latrobe, PA, and also spent a few months out of each year travelling in their RV across the United States. In addition to travelling, Ray enjoyed boating and fishing, and was a devoted Miami Dolphins fan. He was also a 50 year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

Ray was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothy. He leaves behind a niece, Bernadette Leichliter, and nephews Michael (Ida)) Long and David Long and family. Honorary family members include Ted (Bev) Macey and James (Mary) Macey, Tony, Cynthia and John Bruce, as well as Kelly Bruce Beard and Lauren Bruce Freece.

A private memorial will take place at a later date.
