Richard P. Eddy 92 a resident of Sebastian Florida passed away on January 12, 2025 at the Hospice Rockledge facility. Born on June 6, 1932 in Elyria, Ohio Richard (also known as "Cap") was a resident of Vermilion and Wakeman Ohio for many years before spending his retirement years in Sebastian Florida. Richard worked at the Ford Motor Company in Lorain as a maintenance supervisor retiring in 1990 with over 30 years of service.

For most of his life boating was Richard's passion. From building a boat in his early years to fully renovating at 43' sailboat later in life, boating was always his true love. Richard also spent 15 years in Wakeman, Ohio renovating a turn of the century farmhouse along with building a cabin along the Vermilion river. While in Florida Cap earned his captain's license along with providing guided boat tours on the Indian River and Intercoastal waterway.  Richard was very talented in many areas such as wood working, carpentry, and boat renovations. The sailboat "Moselle" that he renovated won several awards around Lake Erie.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Dianne; his daughter Pam (Tom) Gleason of Vermilion, Ohio; son's Rick (Barb) Eddy of Wadsworth, Ohio; Eric (Lynda) Eddy of Port Clinton, Ohio; grandchildren Brian, David and Greg Eddy, Paul and Zach Gleason, Eric and Deanna Eddy; great grandchildren Kellan and Regan Gleason, Crew, Capri, Piper, Tinsley, Jordan and Alex Eddy.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Elsie Eddy; sister Sally Kochis and former wife Ellen Eddy.

A private celebration of Richard's life will be held at a later date.
