Robert M. Connolly, 98 passed away on February 18, 2024 at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach. He now joins his wife Doris who passed away four years ago. They shared 73 blessed years of marriage together.
He was born to Theodore L Connolly and Dorothy Montgomery on April 3, 1925 in Staten Island, New York. A graduate of Port Richmond High School, he enlisted in the US Navy having served his country during WWII as a Signalman Second Class V6.
Bob went on to be a New York City Policeman and retired after 20 years. His second career as a Master Electrician had him working on new homes in the Coral Springs Area.
Bob and Doris came to Sebastian, Florida 37 years ago. He loved fishing almost every day in the Sebastian River Waterways. In addition, he played golf with Doris into their 80's at the Sebastian Golf Club.
He is survived by his Son Robert "Chuck" and Daughter in Law JoAnn Connolly of Vero Beach, Florida; Daughter, Patricia Gutmanis of Sebastian, Florida; Grandchildren, Robert G Connolly Jr and spouse, Lori Connolly, Kimberly Connolly, Jack Murray and Maggie Clark; Great Grandchildren, Robert A. Connolly, Remi A. Connolly, Rayder A. Connolly, Risa A. Connolly, Justin Peterson and Samantha Clark; sister in law, Joanne Connolly. Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Theodore L. Connolly II.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 13075 U.S. Highway 1, Sebastian, Florida 32958. Internment and Military Honors will follow at Sebastian Cemetery, 1921 N Central Avenue, Sebastian, Florida 32958.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to to St. Jude Children's Hospital, a favorite charity of Bob and Doris www.stjude.org
