Robert S. Palmer Jr., 76, of Roseland, died Tuesday April 2, 2024 at home surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born to Marie Murphy and Robert S. Palmer Sr. on September 19, 1947 in New Haven, Connecticut. Robert graduated from North Miami Senior High in 1965. He married the love of his life, Deborah, in 1976 and they lived together in Roseland.
Robert was a certified Electrician prior to becoming the owner/operator of The Money Tree Pawn Shop of Melbourne with his wife in 1982. They worked side by side for 39 years. Robert continued to be the "Pawn King" until his retirement in 2021. Once he retired, Robert enjoyed spending time with his family and friends going on their boat and traveling.
Robert is survived by his wife, Deborah; mother, Marie Murphy; children, Edwin Fletcher, Melissa (Samuel) Butts, Katheryn (Gibby) Gibson, Jennifer Connell, and Majorie Craig; grandchildren, Amber (Thomas) Kohler, EJ (Mia) Fletcher, Christopher Connell, Travis Holmes, Veronica, Emma, Elizabeth Gibson, Haden, Jackson and Lily Butts, Charlie (Melanie) Lindsay III; His favorite brother-in-law, Mike (Gale) Edmonds; son-in-law, Charles (Andrea) Lindsay; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Olivia, Jacob, Owen Kohler, Mina, and Gabriella Fletcher; and many nieces and nephews.
Robert was a kind and loving man with a tender heart and a great sense of humor. His generosity and love showed no boundaries, everyone was welcomed with open arms. He had his favorite "fishing trips" that he took with some of his favorite people. Robert will be dearly missed.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, Robert S. Palmer Sr; father-in-law, Edwin Edmonds; mother-in-law, Joanne Edmonds; and brother, Mark Palmer.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 8, 2024. A Celebration of Robert's Life will follow at 11:00 AM at Seawinds Funeral Home, 735 S. Fleming St, Sebastian, FL, 32958. Suggested attire is "Casual Robert", a black shirt and jeans.
In lieu of flowers the family requested that donations be to the Melanoma Research Foundation in Robert's name in hopes of one day finding a cure.
