Robert W. "Shoupy" Shoup, 75, of Sebastian, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2011, at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach, after a short battle with cancer. He was born March 31, 1936, in Butler, PA, and moved to Sebastian 17 years ago from St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. He served in the US Army. Robert was a sign painter and a 31 year member of AA. He was a Director of Recovery at The Source Ministries for the Homeless, and a member of New Hope Ministries Church in Winter Beach. Robert is survived by his wife of 24 years, Karen Shoup of Sebastian, son David Pedersen of Georgetown, DE, step daughters Kelley Breijak of Sebastian, and Tracy Bock of Vero Beach, five grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and sister Peggy Lewein of Milwaukee, WI. He was predeceased by sister Jane Shoup. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 8, 2011, at 2:00 pm at New Hope Ministries Church in Winter Beach.
