Ronald R. Champagne, 71, of Sebastian, FL passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024 at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach, FL. He is survived by his wife, Sally. They were married for 43 years.

Born in Woonsocket, RI, he moved to Cumberland, RI in 1962. He was predeceased by his parents, Roland J. and Lillian B. Champagne. Ronald graduated from Salve Regina University.

He retired from the Town of Cumberland Police Department with the rank of Corporal after 22 years of service.

Ronald was a lifetime member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. He served as a Trustee in the Woonsocket Lodge, #850 prior to moving to Florida and joining the Sebastian Lodge, #2714. He was a Commissioner for the Cumberland Hill Fire District for many years and sat as an elected member to the board when the Town of Cumberland Fire Department was established.

Ronald is also survived by his godchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor and ability to speak fluent sarcasm.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Sunday, June 2nd at 1:00 pm at the Sebastian Elks Lodge #2714, 731 S Fleming St., Sebastian, FL.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 12th at 9:00 am at JJ Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Cumberland, RI with internment at Resurrection Cemetery.
