Russell F. Striffler, 78, of Marcellus, NY, passed away December 3rd in Sebastian, Florida. Born and raised in Queens, NY, he received his bachelors and masters degrees from State University College, Oswego and taught Industrial Arts in Marcellus and Auburn, NY. He spent 30 years in the USAR, retiring as a Colonel. He was also very active in the Masons and was Master of Morningstar Lodge, Marcellus, in 1977. He loved golf, fishing and traveling, and spent many years delivering Meals on Wheels. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nancy, sons Russell (Tresa), Roger (Pete), Randall (Eileen) and daughters Rachel and Rebecca Striffler, as well as 7 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, and sister Ruth Ann (Robert) Kessler.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Seawinds Funeral Home, 735 S. Fleming Street, Sebastian, FL, from 10:00 to 11:00 am on December 8th. A memorial service with military honors will follow at 11:00 am.
A masonic memorial service will be held in Marcellus, NY, at a later date.
