Ruth E. Steinmo, 88 of Sebastian, FL., formally of Staten Island, NY., went to heaven January 20, 2016.
Born February 10, 1927 to Matts and Gerda Johnson in Brooklyn, NY. She served in the Salvation Army from 1946 to 1958, when she married. She was a Homemaker and long time member of El Bethel Church, Staten Island, before moving to Florida in 1985 to be with her family. Ruth was a member of Sebastian Church of God before joining Riverside Church in 1988 where she served as secretary for many years.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Ragnar Steinmo, of Sebastian, FL.; her children, Sharon(Frank) Borden, of Micco, FL., and Glenn Steinmo, of Sebastian, FL.; grandchildren, Tim Borden, and Kristina Borden both of Sebastian, FL.; her brother, Walter(Eileen) Johnson, of Greenwich, NY.; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Steinmo, of Sebastian, FL.; and her brother Charlie Johnson, of Long Island, NY.
A Memorial Service will be held 3:00 pm, Sunday, January 24, 2016, at Riverside Church, 11205 Roseland Road, Sebastian, FL.,32958, with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Riverside Church Missions Fund 11205 Roseland Road, Sebastian, FL, 32958.
