Sandy was an avid tennis player in her younger years, even winning singles and double tournaments with her husband. She loved cooking, gardening, sports, boating, and vacationing with her family in Florida and the Jersey shore. She was also a huge fan of the Yankees, Giants, and UCONN women's basketball.
Sandy spent many years of her professional life as a bookkeeper at Ellington Printery before retiring in 2013. Shortly after retiring, Sandy moved to Sebastian, FL, and loved watching the dolphins and manatees from her living room. She also enjoyed going to local fairs, trying new restaurants, and shopping with her dear friend, Judy.

Her daughter, Tracy Rittweger, her husband, Jamie Carter, and her children Brionna Koehler and Trevor Koehler. She is also survived by a blended family of grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she loved as her own.
