Obituary

Scott Rhey Bosworth, 74, passed away on July 24, 2026, surrounded by family, following a valiant, five-year fight with lung and pancreatic cancer. He was born on September 14, 1951, to Richard and Eleanor (Hart) Bosworth in St. Paul, Minnesota. Before moving to Sebastian, FL, he lived on Vashon Island, Washington and Cocoa Beach, Florida, and graduated from the University of Minnesota.

Scott dedicated his life to his passion for music and playing his guitar, spending over 50 years entertaining, teaching, and perfecting his craft. He played as a solo artist, and in many well-known bands in Minneapolis and locally in Florida with “The Britches Band"," Trilogy, and the “Lost River Gang.”

Outside of music, he also enjoyed surfing, boating, fishing, horseback riding, cooking, traveling, and the mountains.

Scott was a loving husband, Father, Grandfather, and Uncle. He will always be remembered by his family and friends for his charming, fun, easy-going personality and warm heart.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years Dorri (Emmerich) Bosworth; daughters, Kathleen Cruz, Mary (Steven) Wolf, and Lisa (Brad) Kent, all of Sebastian; 5 grandchildren, Kaden Chapin, Arlo and Lola Wolf, Eleanor and Evelyn Kent; father and mother-in-law, Jim and Mary Emmerich of Sebastian; cousins, Michael, Steve, Richard and Sam Bosworth, all of California; brothers-in-law, Joe (Kim) Emmerich of Longmont, CO, Jon (Kim) Emmerich of Woodstock, IL, and Billy Paultz of Seabrook, TX, along several nieces, nephews and second cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents and sister-in-law, Diane Paultz.

A celebration of life remembering and honoring Scott will be held on August 7th, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in The Tiffany Room at Captain Hirams, 1606 Indian River Drive, Sebastian, Florida.
