Stanley J. Linder, 89, of Sebastian, FL. passed away on August 18, 2019.

Stan was born on September 26, 1929 to the late Roy Franklin Linder and Jane Neeley Linder in Richland County, IL.  Prior to living in Florida, he resided in Greenville, OH.  He graduated from Olney, IL High School in 1946.  He obtained his bachelor's degree from Southern Illinois University which was followed by a stint in the US Army.  After his discharge he attended the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music.  He later earned his master's degree from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.  He was also certified in computer science.

Stan was a music teacher for over 30 years in Ohio.  He taught music at Rock Hill School at Pedro in Lawrence County, Ohio before he began his career with the Greenville City Schools in 1964.  He was the Music Director and the conductor of the Senior High Orchestra for 26 years before retiring in 1988.  He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Sebastian, Florida where he sang in the choir for over 20 years.  He was a member of NEA and the Greenville Elks Lodge.  He was an avid music lover and a teacher to many.  He played in bands of many different genres, several community orchestras and ensembles.

Stan is survived by his wife Denise Flavin Linder, whom he married on August 16, 1975, of Sebastian, FL; a daughter, Lisa Hendrickson (Ken) of Winchester, IN; a son Dave Linder (Brenda) of Huber Heights, OH; a brother, Paul Linder (Jeanette); a stepson and caregiver, Doug Meister (Jan Oberer) of Sebastian, FL; and  two step daughters, Stephanie Brandeberry of Greenville, OH and Alison Naylor of Arcanum, Ohio; grandchildren, Derrick Linder (Abby) of Beavercreek, OH; Dane Linder of Portland, OR; Sharlee Linder and Casey Linder of Germantown, OH; Torin Hendrickson of Winchester, IN; Gage Linder and Kyra Linder of Huber Heights, OH; Step grandchildren, Paul Meister, Sarah Meister, Mathew Hangen, Lindsey Brewer and 12 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Stephen M. Linder; brother Byron Linder; sister Brenda Helling; grandson Mark Meister and son in law Robert Brandeberry.

Visitation will be on, Friday, September 13 ^th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tribute Funeral Home in Greenville, OH.

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 14 ^th at 11:00 A.M.  at the funeral home.
