Stephen F. Peltier, 70, of Sebastian, passed away on Wednesday, April 29th after being ill for the last 3 months.
He was born to Geraldine (Kolan) and Francis Peltier, January 8, 1945. He was proceeded in death by his parents, brother Donald, sister Kathleen and grandson Andrew.
To say his wife, Susan, was the love of his life would be an understatement. Not only did he have a great love for his wife but for his children, son Thomas Hardin, daughter Diane Hardin (Jim Wiederhold), grandson Doug Wiederhold and granddaughter Paige Wiederhold. He had a great love for his country, the flag that stands for our country and the US Navy. Steve spent 4 years in the Navy serving our country before being Honorably discharged in 1968. He wore and collected all things Navy with great pride. He would go out of his way to personally shake the hand and say, "Thank you for your service" to anyone, in any branch of the service in uniform, along with any veteran displaying their branch pride. This is a tradition he passed on to his family who will continue this in his memory. It is our hope that his friends and family take up this tradition and think of Steve as they thank those that serve our country.
While in the Navy he became an electrician. His work in this field was a source of pride for many of the years he workrd for General Motors. He was the kind of man that took great pride in his work ethic and he was always willing to help anyone in need of a hand, even without being asked. After retirement he was always active around the house frequently updating either something inside or outside. He could be seen regularly washing his car, his trike motorcycle, cutting the grass, planting something, painting or building something. He was active in his motorcycle group, The Retreads, and loved their breakfast meetings and rides they took together. He will be deeply missed and always loved.
