IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Susan
Parry
January 16, 1957 – March 24, 2025
Susan Parry, 68, of Fellsmere, FL, passed away on Monday, March 24th, while listening to her current obsession, Prince's Kiss, with her husband Kurt and daughter Caroline by her side.
Born on January 16, 1957, in Bethesda, MD, to the late Bobby Parry and Beverly Eggeman, they moved to Florida and Susan and her late sister Jan spent much of their childhood on Florida's Gulf Coast. Though born in Maryland, Florida quickly became home, and Susan proudly considered herself a Floridian no matter where life took her. Everywhere else "sucked".
In the early 1980s, Susan moved to the east coast of Florida, where she married Robert Bloom and welcomed her daughter, Caroline, in 1984. In 1990, Susan and Caroline moved to Delray Beach, where in 1993, Susan met the love of her life, Kurt Larson. After a decade of dating, they decided to make it official in 2006 with an Elvis wedding in Las Vegas—because, well, why not? Instead of saying "I do," they said "Uh huh!"
In 2004, Susan and Kurt ventured to Texas, where Susan's dream of owning horses and a pet buffalo was partially realized (spoiler alert: the buffalo didn't quite pan out, but it sure made for some funny stories). In 2019, after missing Florida's sunshine, Sue and Kurt packed up their three horses, donkey, cow, three dogs, and parrot and moved back to Fellsmere, FL.
Susan was a woman of many passions. She was an avid BINGO player, a writer-in-the-making alongside her Aunt Ginny, and a champion at pretending to deep-sea fish (which mainly involved napping). She found solace in her barn with her horses, loved cooking and reading (which often also involved napping), and spent hours chatting about the day she would finally swim in her pool. Always up for a dog walk or a good laugh, Susan also cherished her quiet time in her "Me Cave," where she could recharge and dream up Alison Ivy's next big adventure.
Susan is survived by her husband, Kurt Larson of Fellsmere, FL, who humored every crazy idea—from dressing up as characters from the Dukes of Hazzard for Halloween to installing a stripper pole so she could attempt acrobatics (another spoiler: she never actually did acrobatics). Her daughter, Caroline Bloom of Asheville, NC, who repeatedly asked if she was her biological child and apparently has been shaking her finger at her since the age of 3. And her mother-in-law, Ruth Larson of Fellsmere, FL, who fondly remembers Susan watering her artificial flowers and playfully tossing her late husband Larry into the pool.
As per Susan's wishes, there will not be a formal funeral service. She wanted to be cremated, and her ashes will be spread at sea. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to an animal rescue of your choice, in honor of Susan's love for animals.
