Theresa Jeannine Cavanaugh
On the afternoon of July17, 2015 Theresa Jeannine Cavanaugh was called home to Heaven. She was born in Holyoke MA on March 22, 1933. Terry's childhood was spent in Chicopee MA where she along with her seven brothers grew up under the watchful eyes of Aunt Cora and Uncle Albert.
Terry had a full and varied work life. In the Holyoke & Chicopee area she was employed by the Holyoke Hospital, Holyoke Country Club, and Kelly's lobster house as well as many other establishments throughout the Holyoke area. In 1992 she retired to Vero Beach Florida where she enjoyed a whole new set of experiences. She along with her husband Bob founded and operated Terry's lawn maintenance in Sebastian. She retired once again from the Indian River County Club where she had enjoyed not only her coworkers but also the members who would look flock to her golf cart mid round to enjoy a beverages between holes.
In Florida,Terry served as president of the Vero Lake Estates Homeowners Association and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Terry leaves behind her loving husband of thirty years Robert G. Cavanaugh of Vero Beach FL, her daughter Deborah Girard of Southampton MA, her grandchildren, Heather Girard of Southampton MA, Bryce Girard of Easthampton MA and Charlotte Allen of South Hadley MA.
Also feeling the void of Nana's leaving are her great-grandchildren Liliana and Olyvia Girard of Southampton. Terry will also be missed by her three surviving sisters- in-laws Peg Tremble of Dover Delaware, Rose Tremble of Worcester MA., Diana Yersley of Viera FL and her daughter in law Robin of Easthampton MA.
Terry was predeceased by her seven brothers as well as two sons Robert Girard of Southampton MA and Norman Girard of Granby MA.
A celebration of Terry's life will be held at Seawinds Funeral Home, 375 South Flemming Street in Sebastian Florida on July 23, 2015 at 10:30 AM. All are invited.
If a smile is worth a thousand words Terry Cavanaugh was an encyclopedia. She will be loved and missed every day by all that knew her.
