IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Theresa Lynn
Dahl
October 2, 1958 – January 8, 2019
Theresa Lynn Dahl, 60, passed away surrounded by family in Sebastian, Florida on January 8, 2019. Her longtime love, Tony Garcia, was holding her hand.
Theresa was born in Orlando, Florida, the oldest daughter of eight children. She attended Evans High School. Always a free spirit, she moved to Ohio after meeting some folks visiting Florida from there. For the next two decades, Theresa made Loudonville, Ohio, her home, where she raised two children, gardened, battled the snow, jarred salsa, made many friends, and broke many hearts. She moved back to Florida 15 years ago, and made a home in Sebastian with her ever patient partner, Tony.
Theresa smiled like the sun. Her warmth, humor, generosity, and spirit attracted an army of loyal friends and kept her family close. Given the name "Grandma Florida" by her grandchildren, she adored Facetiming with them. Theresa delighted in walking on the beach and thrift shopping. She decorated her home with more signage than a T.G.I. Friday's. Her collection of tie dyed attire and flip flops remains unrivaled. Theresa's longtime passion for music led her, lately, to "Fight Song" by Rachel Platten and "A Broken Wing" by Martina McBride. She also spent her time painting and coloring and she had most recently completed a picture for her daughter Amy. It was a 1960s-style, psychedelic apple with the words "Bite Me" next to it. She was a fantastic cook who served up hearty food and way too much of it. Her children loved her stuffed cabbage rolls and chicken and rice.
Theresa was no shrinking violet, and when cancer entered her life she took it for a wild ride. Most recently, she'd arrived at Thanksgiving waving a magnum of sangria, fought with her daughter because a cane wasn't going to match her outfit, and laughed for 48-solid hours with her sisters during an all-girls beach weekend. Theresa had refused to go to sleep. She cherished and made the very most of every moment she had.
She is survived by three children, B.J. Green (New Jersey), Amy Byers (Jared) of Ohio and Keith Lovellette of Ohio; four grandchildren, Kyla Green, Jayden Green, Ellery Byers and Tobyn Byers; her Mom, Terry Wolfe, of Florida; three brothers, James Wolfe (Joanie) of Colorado, John Wolfe (Peggy) of Florida, Randy Garrett (Belinda) of Florida, and four sisters, Linda Woody (Daniel) of Florida, Tammie Glidewell (Kevin), Scherry Krewson of Florida, and Kelly Wolfe of Florida. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lucy Stephens and father, John Wolfe.
In lieu of flowers, please make gifts to the VNA Hospice House, 901 37 th Street, Vero Beach, Florida, 32960, 772-567-5551.
