Thomas J. Choquet, of Vero Beach, Florida passed away Sunday, July 20, 2014 at the Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach, Florida. Thomas was the husband of the late Dorothy (Couturier) Choquet.
Born November 17, 1932 in Central Falls, Rhode Island, he was the son of the late Arthur and Esther (Kerwin) Choquet. Thomas had been a resident of Vero Beach since 1988, formally residing in the state of Rhode Island.
Prior to his retirement, Thomas was employed by the Indian River School District. Thomas was a proud owner of a small jewelry business while residing in Rhode Island. Thomas also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a communicant of the Community Baptist Church in Sebastian, Florida.
Thomas loved traveling and volunteering at the Community Baptist Church, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and the family pets.
Thomas leaves behind two sons, James Choquet and his wife Tina of Vero Beach Florida, and Thomas A. Choquet and his wife Michele of Irving, Texas; two daughters, Joyce Gold and her husband Henry of Glocester, Rhode Island, and Ruth Gold of East Greenwich, Rhode Island; a brother Raymond Choquet and his wife Theresa of Sebastian, Florida; 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Esther Kaplan, Edward Choquet, Joseph Choquet, Arthur Choquet, and Barbara Fontaine.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 29th at 2 pm at the Community Baptist Church, 12534 Roseland Rd, Sebastian, Florida.
Arrangements are by Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory, Sebastian.
Burial services will be held in Rhode Island at a later date.
