Thomas C., 87, of Sebastian, FL, formerly of Wayne, NJ, passed away February 28, 2017. Tom was born August 2, 1929, and lived most of his life in Bergen and Passaic Counties NJ, until he and Audrey, his wife of 54 years, moved to Sebastian, FL in 1997. Tom was a carpenter who built hundreds of homes and remodeled many others in northern NJ over a career that spanned a half century, beginning in the 1940's. He learned the trade from his father, Neil, and his uncle, Dan, and taught it to his sons, several nephews and grandsons. Tom and Audrey enjoyed the FL sun and together crafted wooden toys and furniture in retirement, until she passed away in 2002. Tom was an active member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Wayne, NJ, and then St. Augustine of Canterbury Episcopal Church in Vero Beach.
Tom is survived by his sister, Lorraine; four children: Deb (Glenn), Tom (Maggi), Jim (Laurette), and John (Margaret); seven grandchildren: Tom, Michael, James, Dan, Rebecca, Patrick, and Joanna; seven great-grandchildren (with one more on the way); five nieces and nephews; and many friends.
A service to the Glory of God and in loving memory of Tom will be held 11:00am, Saturday, March 18 at St. Augustine of Canterbury Episcopal Church in Vero Beach. Memorial gifts may be sent to St. Augustine's, 475 43rd Ave., Vero Beach, FL 39268.
