Obituary

Valentine "Wally" Frey, 85, of Sebastian, Florida passed away on November 9th 2019 at Sebastian River Medical Center in Sebastian. He was born September 16th 1934 in Glendale, New York to the late Marie and Arthur Frey. He was the second from youngest of the now late siblings Arthur
"Scottie", Theresa "Terrie", Anne, John and Joe Frey.

He graduated High School with honors at the age of 15. He loved math, history and reading. He loved to play football and baseball with his neighborhood friends. He later met and married his sister in laws sister Susan, who was the love of his life.

"Wally" worked at the Great Atlantic and Pacific (A&P) supermarket. He was an active member at Ascension Lutheran Church in Deer Park, N.Y. as a bookkeeper. He held various other side jobs including landscaping during his employment career. Sometimes he would come home so tired
from work, but if he saw us kids outside playing catch or anything he suddenly had energy to join in the fun immediately! He loved the outdoors and growing plants, shrubs, flowers and trees. Helping with his side jobs was always so much fun and we learned a lot. He was a great dad.

He moved to Sebastian, Florida in 2001 with his wife Susan and their middle daughter Eileen. He wrote many letters. In retirement he had time again to read books, and often told me he was reading 3 at a time. He especially enjoyed reading about the Civil War and told me stories that went on "in my back yard" in Virginia. He loved to read books to his Grandchildren too. Tom Sawyer is one they remember best. They enjoyed watching home movies of their mom and Aunts he had converted to DVD's. He enjoyed playing baseball, football, bowling, ring toss, badmenton, and Chinese Checkers on visits. He liked taking Krista "Kat" to church, and Devin to car shows. Always quick with a joke, and a sweet smile. He had a beautiful yard with plants and flowers. He was active in a Lutheran Church in Sebastian too. He enjoyed fellowship at the "Men's Breakfasts".

"Wally" is survived by three daughters Patricia Anga of Maritsa, Rhodes in Greece; Eileen Frey of Sebastian, Fl. and Karen Stroh-Austin of Capron, Va. He is also survived by two grandchildren Krista "Kat" Stroh of Murfreesboro, N.C., Devin Stroh of Richmond, Va. and one great-grandson Wyatt Stroh also of Richmond, Va.
