On Monday, March 30th 2015, our family lost a beautiful lady who was the matriarch of our family. He name was Virginia Elizabeth (Saylor) Torpey, age 90. She was born in Philadelphia, August 10th, 1924, and lived in the Lawncrest section of Philadelphia all her life. She enjoyed the last 4 months of her life in Sebastian, Florida.

Preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Eugene E. Torpey.

From that marriage, she left behind two sons; Eugene (Butch) and Charles (Chuck) Torpey, two daughter-in-laws; Betty and Chris, four grandchildren; Cathe, Melanie, Jessica, and Chuck and a great-grandson Mason Anthony. she was a huge Phillies fan and never missed a televised game. she was a generous spirit, and she will be sadly missed by all.
