IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Warren Ernest
Nephew
November 24, 1935 – July 8, 2024
Warren Ernest Nephew born on November 24, 1935, in Ellenburg Depot, New York, passed peacefully into his next life on the morning of July 8th at 88 years old. Preceding him in death were his loving mother Irene and sister, Norma. Six years ago, he lost his wife Joyce, the love of his life for 61 years. When she was no longer there to hold up the glass half full, his was never more than half empty.
He leaves behind four children and their spouses Patricia (Harold) Schenavar, Scott (Denise) Nephew, Cheryl (Michael) Zelesky and Dean (Erin) Nephew. Ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren Kyle (Aurelia), Mary (Jaxson), Max, Keith (Michael), Kelley (Jensen, Josiah), Royce, Brenna, Grace, Nicholas (Nora) and Joey.
His early life was filled with challenges and obstacles that greatly shaped the man he would become. One that recognized hard times but didn't run from them. One that persevered through tough choices and circumstances. One that rose above limited options and carved from them a better future. With his partner and joy by his side, he worked hard, found success and retired early.
He truly loved fishing and knew the waters that surrounded him like the back of his sun-weathered hands. He had a great appreciation for nature and wildlife, especially the beauty of birds. He loved living in Florida where he found his bounty of enjoyment.
His last years were lived in the town of Sebastian in Indian River County. His last breath was taken at Hospice House in Vero Beach where angels work and volunteer. With deep gratitude we thank all those who care for him.
An informal celebration of life is planned for Saturday July 27th at his home with family. Friends and neighbors are welcome to join between 12pm– 2 pm. He will be laid to rest in Sebastian Cemetery.
