Wendell M. Smith Jr., born June 1, 1958, passed away peacefully at home on June 22, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Wendell was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be remembered for his kind heart, sense of humor, strength, and the special way he touched the lives of everyone around him.

Throughout his life, Wendell treasured the people he loved most. He created countless lasting memories with his family and friends, and his presence brought warmth and joy to all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Wendell leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will remain forever with those who loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Cindy; his daughters, Melissa and Melanie; his grandsons, Dylan (Alyssa) and Crew; his father, Wendell M. Smith Sr. (Tina); and his mother, Patsy (Charles). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many wonderful friends and neighbors.

Wendell was predeceased by his son, Jason, and his sister, Jane.

Wendell loved to laugh and make others laugh. He was truly a character whose humor and personality brought joy to those around him. Though he is no longer with us, his love, laughter, and memory will remain with us forever.

Rest peacefully, Wendell. You will be deeply loved and forever missed.
