William Scott Young, 97, Sebastian, FL., passed away December 11, 2012 at his residence.
Mr. Young was born in Philadelphia, PA., on December 8, 1915
He was a resident of Florida for the past 25 years coming from Brigantine, NJ., where he worked for the United States Postal Service and Brinks Armored Trucks. He also owned and operated Young's Dock in Brigantine, NJ for 18 years before retiring to Florida.
Mr. Young served his country in the United States Coast Guard during WWII as a Fireman Second Class.
He was a member and volunteer for the Manoa Fire Company and a lifetime member of the American Legion post 318 in Port St. Lucie, FL.
Mr. Young was an elder of the Community Presbyterian Church in Brigantine, NJ and a member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Port St. Lucie, FL.
He is survived by daughter, Judy Beckert, Sebastian, FL., son, James Young, Palm Bay, FL. and companion Marian Danforth, Port St. Lucie, FL.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Della M. Young, daughter Jane E. McClaskey
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday December 16, 2012 at 1:00 pm at St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Port St. Lucie, FL.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Brigantine Community Presbyterian Church in Brigantine, NJ or St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Port St. Lucie, FL.
